Microsoft will no longer support connections to Office365 from our phone system as of Dec. 1, 2019. Our current method of sending voicemail messages into email will no longer work as of this date. In response, we will be moving to MyPhone voicemail.

MyPhone voicemail will be available for setup beginning Nov. 4, 2019.

MyPhone voicemail will be live on Nov. 18, 2019. 

Voicemail Timeline

Many of our FAQs and User Guides refer to logging in to the MyPhone portal. For users accessing their standard voicemail boxes, they can log-in with their eName or 5-digit extension and eName password. For users wanting to access the settings for a shared voicemail box or Voicemail-Only Mailbox (VMOMB), they will need to contact the Central IT HelpDesk (970-491-7276 or and request a password be set-up for that extension for the MyPhone portal.

How do I reset my PIN?

  1. Navigate to
  2. For standard voicemail, login with your CSU eID and password. For shared mailboxes or VMOMB, contact the Central IT Help Desk (970-491-7276 or to be issued a password for that extension.
  3. Select the “MY INFORMATION” tab.
  4. Select the “Unified Messaging” tab from the menu on the left.
  5. In the “Voice Pin” field, type in your new four-digit pin.
  6. In the “Confirm Voicemail Pin” field, re-type the new pin.
  7. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select “Apply.”

Will I have to re-record my voicemail greeting in MyPhone?

Yes, you will have to re-record your voicemail greeting in MyPhone if you want something different than the standard greeting. Between November 4th and November 18th, you will need to dial 1-4500 to record your new greeting. After MyPhone voicemail goes live on November 18th, you will dial 1-5500 as before.

What if my voicemail greeting volume is low/quiet?

We recommend recording your greeting from a campus desktop phone for better quality.  If you need to use a mobile phone to record your greeting, please remember to use a loud voice and speak clearly.

Will I lose all of my stored Office 365 voicemails?

Any messages stored in your email will be retained, any other messages will be deleted and cannot be recovered.

How long will my voicemails be saved in MyPhone?

Voicemail messages will be available for 30 days. If you choose to have voicemail delivered to your email address, the messages will be available indefinitely. 

What happened to the speech to text feature?

Unfortunately, speech to text is a feature that is not available in MyPhone.

Do I still dial 1-5500 to access voicemail?

Yes, to access your voicemail:

  • From on campus, you can dial 1-5500. 
  • From off campus (locally), dial 491-5500.
  • From off campus (long distance), dial 1+(970) 491-5500.

Can I access MyPhone voicemail outside of CSU?

Yes, to access your voicemail:

  • From off campus (locally), dial 491-5500.
  • From off campus (long distance)dial 1+970-491-5500.

Will MyPhone voicemail messages still go to my email account?

Yes, the default setting in MyPhone is for voicemail messages to forward to your email account. This default setting can be updated in the MyPhone portal. See the FAQ regarding “How do I stop receiving voicemail in my email?” for more information.

Can I change the email my MyPhone voicemails are sent to?

Yes, you can update the email account in the portal. 

How many different emails can MyPhone voicemails be forwarded to?

You can specify a primary email account and a secondary email account in the portal. 

How do I stop receiving voicemail in my email?

  1. Login to with your CSU eID and password, or your extension and password.
  2. Select the “MY INFORMATION” tab.
  3. Select the “Unified Messaging” tab from the menu on the left.
  4. Change Voicemail Notification to “No notification”.

Can I enable/disable the message-waiting indicator (the flashing red light)?

  1. Log into with your CSU eIDand password. 
  2. Select “MY INFORMATION” tab.
  3. Select the “Unified Messaging” tab from the menu on the left.
  4. Uncheck “Enable MWI”(NOT YET IMPLIMENTED) 
  5. Click Apply

Why is voicemail changing?

As of December 1, 2019 Microsoft will decommission equipment used to connect Office 365 voicemail services to the CSU campus telephony environment.  In response, CSU is moving to MyPhone voicemail.
